Privacy Policy — Savor

Effective Date: March 23, 2026 Developer: Jahred Danker

Overview

Savor is a personal restaurant tracking app. It stores your data on your device and does not transmit it to any server controlled by the developer. This policy explains exactly what data is handled, by whom, and how.

Data You Provide

When you add a restaurant to Savor, the following information is saved locally on your device only:

  • Restaurant name
  • Your personal rating
  • Visit status (visited / want to visit)
  • Any notes you add

This data is written to a file in your device’s private app storage (Documents/restaurants.json). It is never uploaded, synced, or shared with the developer or any third party.

Data We Do Not Collect

Savor does not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Your name, email address, or any account information
  • Your location
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs (IDFA)
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Crash reports or diagnostic data

There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no backend servers associated with this app.

Third-Party Services — Google Places

When you search for a restaurant to add, Savor sends your search query to the Google Places API to retrieve restaurant suggestions, details, and photos. This is the only data that leaves your device.

What is sent to Google:

  • Your search text (e.g., “pizza downtown”)
  • Follow-up requests for place details and photos for results you select

What is not sent:

  • Your saved restaurant list
  • Your ratings or notes

Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Savor does not receive or store any data Google collects as part of these requests.

Local Storage and Caching

Savor uses two local storage locations, both managed entirely on your device:

Location Contents Cleared when
Documents/restaurants.json Your saved restaurant list You delete the app
Library/Caches/PlacePhotos/ Restaurant photos fetched from Google Places You delete the app, or automatically by iOS under storage pressure

Neither location is accessible to the developer or any third party.

Data Retention and Deletion

All data Savor stores lives on your device. To permanently delete all app data, delete Savor from your device. No data is retained by the developer after deletion because no data was ever transmitted to the developer.

Children’s Privacy

Savor is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be published at the same URL with a revised effective date. Continued use of the app after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
